Forms of Academic Assessment used to Measure Students Progress

At our school, we utilize a variety of assessments throughout the year to monitor student growth, inform instruction, and prepare students for college and career success:
- MAP Testing (Measures of Academic Progress): Administered in Fall, Winter, and Spring, MAP tests provide detailed insights into students' understanding of key subjects, allowing teachers to tailor instruction to meet individual needs.
- Accuplacer Testing: Conducted in the Fall with recommendations provided in the Spring, this assessment evaluates students' readiness for college-level coursework in reading, math, and writing, guiding placement decisions.
- PSAT/NMSQT Testing: Held in the Fall, the PSAT/NMSQT helps students practice for the SAT, explore scholarship opportunities, and assess college readiness.
- SAT Testing: Conducted in the Spring, the SAT is a critical standardized test used for college admissions and scholarship applications.
- CLEP (College-Level Examination Program): Offered in the Winter, CLEP allows students to earn college credit by demonstrating knowledge of introductory-level college subjects, helping them save time and money in their college journey.
These assessments provide valuable data to support student achievement, guide instruction, and ensure students are well-prepared for their future academic and professional pursuits.
MAP Testing (Measures of Academic Progress)
Achievement: Students are expected to demonstrate mastery of grade-level standards in key subjects, as reflected in MAP assessment results.
Growth: We track individual progress throughout the year, with a focus on continuous growth from fall to spring.
Language MAP Achievement:
Students should show growth and proficiency in language skills, including reading and language usage, based on MAP assessments.
